Letting Go
Those who genuinely want to help those around them often have the problem of not letting go of the problems of others until they are solved. This is both a good and a bad thing, as these types of people are committed to making things to work at great costs - which at times is needed. However, at other times there is nothing else that can be done. It might be that the time for action has long past, or the those involved are no longer present. Spending energy on situations like these only detracts from the ones that need our attention most right now. Choices have to be made about which situations get attention, and attempting to carry them all results in none (or very few) of them getting the attention they need.
Seems like this is a life long process. The things that are unnecessarily sucking up way too much energy are going to change. There are always going to be people who need more help than we are able to give them. If an opportunity comes later for you to do more, that's great: take it if it's prudent. Otherwise, let it go. For your own sanity and to better help those around you, let the unnecessary stuff go.

Thanks. Knowing when to let go is huge. Reminds me of my water skiing experience I mentioned to you once, where a rope could have caused my untimely death because ironically, I was holding onto it for dear life.
And I've tried to solve others problems too... It's not bad to try to help, but you can't do it for them any more than you could make a person healthy by running yourself ragged while you pull the along in a wagon. Doesn't work.
